PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Doris I. Brewer, 63, of Perryville died Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at her home.
She was born Feb. 9, 1947, at Menfro, Mo., daughter of Nolan J. and Irene Clifton Hager. She and Gary Thomas Brewer were married Feb. 8, 1969. He preceded her in death May 28, 1982.
Survivors include two daughters, Janelle L. Winkler and Janette L. (David) Call of Perryville; her mother, Irene Hager of Perryville; six brothers and two sisters, Milton (Janet) Hager of Troy, Mo., Eugene (Sandra) Hager of Uniontown, Mo., Robert Hager of St. Peters, Mo., Jasper (Judy) Hager of Barnhart, Mo., Clara (James) Vernon of Arnold, Mo., Edward (Patricia) Hager of Elkton, Md., Raymond (Donna) Hager of Barnhart, Dorthy (Clarence) Buchheit of Perryville; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Winkler, Cody Call, Jessica Winkler, Jordan Winkler and Casey Call.
Mrs. Brewer worked at Better Hearing Solutions in Perryville as an administrative assistant. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, VFW Auxiliary to Post 4282, and Missouri State Teachers Association.
She received a bachelor of science degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University.
She was preceded in death by her father, husband and two sisters, Faye and Janice Hager.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe Williams officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, and 6:30 a.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home. A VFW Auxiliary wake will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Memorials are preferred to Hospice Care Inc., VFW Auxiliary or charity of choice.
