DORIS BARBRE

DONIPHAN -- Doris Wendt Barbre, 79, of Doniphan died Saturday, July 10, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born April 23, 1920, at Milwaukee, Wis., daughter of Gustav and Ruth Ebsen Wendt. She and George W. Barbre were married Aug. 4, 1948 at Honolulu, Hawaii.

She had worked as a secretary with the Civil Service. Barbre was of the Episcopalian faith and attended Lingo Freewill Baptist Church at Doniphan. She was also a member of Eastern Star 299 at Doniphan and a life member of an Eastern Star chapter at Glendale, Calif. She was a member of the Ponder Booster Club and a member of Friends of the Library at Doniphan.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Dave Barbre of Bartlett, Tenn.; a daughter, Barbara R. Barbre of Doniphan; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

There will be a memorial service at a later date.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home at Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
