CAIRO, Ill. -- DORA McGINNESS, 91, of Cairo died Sunday, June 24, 2018, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.
Born Oct. 6, 1926, at Mount Pleasant, Illinois, to the late John and Flossie Marie Brim McGinness, she had lived in Cairo most of her life, where she was co-owner and operator of McGinness Automotive Supply and later McGinness Enterprises until her retirement and was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.
Surviving is her brother, Don (Mary Ann) McGinness and two sisters, Mary R. Satterfield and Louise Hornberger, all of Cairo; two nephews, Charles McGinness and Mark McGinness; and one niece, Kim Bohde. Also surviving are several great-nieces and -nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Lois Elaine McGinness; a brother, Frank McGinness; and a niece, Joyce Berry.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Missouri.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Larry L. Potts, pastor of Mighty Rivers Regional Worship Center in Cairo, officiating. Interment will follow in McGinnis Cemetery near Anna, Illinois, under the direction of McMikle Funeral Home.
