Donna Ann Renner Schulz, 71, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Chester, Illinois, passed away Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, in her home.

She spent many years as a nurse providing home health to children with extreme medical needs. She was a foster parent, fly fishing enthusiast, volunteer with Boy Scouts of America and was always ready to lend a hand to those in need.

Donna was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau and a lifetime member of VFW No. 3553 Auxiliary in Chester.

She is survived by her son, Ron (Dana) McAdams; grandson Obi McAdams of Cape Girardeau; sisters, Debra (Jim) Hurley of O’Fallon, Illinois, Sharon Campbell of Smithton, Illinois and Susan (Joe) Lehr of Belleville, Illinois; brothers Bill Renner of Cutler, Illinois, and Bruce (Christy) Slack of Portageville; and countless beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Schulz III of St. Louis, and parents, Victor and Frieda Eggemeyer Slack of Chester and Bill and Ruby Guetersloh Renner of Smithton.

It was Donna’s wish to donate her body to Washington University School of Medicine to aid in the pursuit of expanding scientific knowledge.

Memorials may be made in her name to Southeast Missouri Pets (formerly Humane Society of Southeast Missouri), 180 Weston St., Cape Girardeau, MO 63701 or American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), 424 E. 92nd St., New York, NY 10128-6804.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
