Donna Jett

COPPELL, Texas -- Donna Kassel Jett, 74, on Coppell passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 2017, at home.

Donna was born Sept. 23, 1943, in Cape Girardeau to Irene Weiss Kassel and Charles Kassel.

She received her undergraduate degree from Southeast Missouri State University and her master's degree from the University of North Texas. She was a middle-school teacher for many years.

Donna was a founding member of St. Ann's Catholic Parish in Coppell.

Throughout her life, she loved caring for her children and grandchildren, gardening, walks outside, yoga and traveling to Missouri and Colorado.

She was married for 50 years to the late Donald Edward Jett.

Donna was loved by her family and will be missed.

She is survived by a sibling, Jana Kassel (Sam) Birk; three children, Derek Jett, Ann Jett and Kate Jett Cassidy; a daughter-in-law, Kristen Jett; and eight grandchildren, Coleman Jett, Sam Jett, Jacob Murray, Emma Jett, Justin Murray, Kevin Cassidy, Don Cassidy and Claire Cassidy.

A funeral Mass and memorial reception will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ann's Catholic Parish in Coppell.
