Donna Francis

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Donna Lugene Francis, 65, of Chaffee passed away Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 19, 1951, at Granite City, Illinois, the daughter of Donald Eugene and Kathleen Fronyabelle Marquies Calvert.

Donna had been a special-education teacher at Kelly Elementary School for many years. She had been a teacher for 31 years. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Advance, Missouri. She enjoyed raising six boys, birds and dogs.

Donna and Gary Francis were united in marriage Aug. 18, 1972, at Granite City, and he survives of the home.

Survivors include her husband, Gary; five sons, Rocky (Angie) Francis of Cape Girardeau, Mike Francis of Humansville, Missouri, Adam Francis of Anchorage, Alaska, Russell (Shelly) Francis of Du Quoin, Illinois, and Jason (Sharon) Francis of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Debbie Armitage of Chaffee, Jean Martin of Flagstaff, Arizona, and Kathy Miller of Buda, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Samuel Francis.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Dale Wiseman officiating and the Rev. Wayne Page assisting. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Park in Advance.
