CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Donna Sue Daugherty, 79, daughter of the late William Allen and Margaret "Maggie" Hickey Houston, was born Aug. 23, 1942, in Carthage, Missouri, and departed her life Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, at her home in Chaffee.
On Sept. 23, 1961, she was united in marriage to Clarence Daugherty. He preceded her in death May 16, 2008.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW in Chaffee. She was a former employee of Famous Barr in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two sons, Claude (Rebecca) Daugherty of Booneville, Missouri, and Paul (Memborly) Daugherty of Huntsville, Alabama; daughter, Edie (Shannon) Steger of Chaffee; 11 grandchildren, David Sexton Jr., Christopher Sexton, Houston Sexton, Bobby Dale Canady II, Vincent Daugherty, Pierce Daugherty, Thomas Daugherty, Rachel Daugherty, Lucas Daugherty, Robert Steger and Margaret "Maggie" Daugherty; four stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Steger, Cody Steger, Jerrod Steger and Joshua Steger; and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, Donna was preceded in death by a son at infancy, Timothy Allen Daugherty; daughter at infancy, Mary Elizabeth Daugherty; four brothers, Allen, Douglas, Bud and Bobby Houston; and three sisters, Martha Decker, Peggy Long and Mary Houston.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. Interment will follow.
