Donna Sue Amlingmeyer, 54, of Paducah, Ky., died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. She was born Dec. 8, 1949, in Evansville, Ind., daughter of L.L. and Mary Gross McCarty. She married John Amlingmeyer. Donna graduated in 1968 from Mount Vernon Senior High School, and from Deaconess School of Nursing in 1971. She worked at Deaconess Hospital 12 years, and had been at Lourdes Hospital the past 21 years, working as a care manager. She was of the Baptist belief...

Donna Sue Amlingmeyer, 54, of Paducah, Ky., died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

She was born Dec. 8, 1949, in Evansville, Ind., daughter of L.L. and Mary Gross McCarty. She married John Amlingmeyer.

Donna graduated in 1968 from Mount Vernon Senior High School, and from Deaconess School of Nursing in 1971. She worked at Deaconess Hospital 12 years, and had been at Lourdes Hospital the past 21 years, working as a care manager. She was of the Baptist belief.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Bryan Amlingmeyer of Charleston, S.C.; her father of Mount Vernon, Ind.; two grandsons, John Carter Amlingmeyer and Hart Joseph Amlingmeyer, both of Bay St. Louis, Miss.; a sister, Becky (Jerry) Ashworth of Mount Vernon; two brothers, David McCarty and Danny (Tammy) McCarty, all of Mount Vernon; a sister-in-law, Joan Gohn of Cape Girardeau; a brother-in-law, C.E. "Ned" Amlingmeyer of Boonville, Ind.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Friends may call at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home in Metropolis, Ill., from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Deem officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to either Lourdes Hospice, Lourdes Foundation or Friends Helping Friends, all c/o Lourdes Hospital, 1530 Lone Oak Road, Paducah, Ky. 42003.
