EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral for Donald Lee Worthy of East Prairie will be held at 2 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. Bob Williams and Ernest Brown will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
Worthy, 52, died Sunday, April 26, 1998, at his home.
He was born Feb. 21, 1946, in Enville, Tenn., son of A.J. and Annie Mae Melton Worthy. He and Judy Ingram were married May 4, 1974.
Worthy was a farm laborer, and member of First General Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Shannon Worthy; a daughter, Rhonda Shands; his mother, all of East Prairie; six brothers, Harold Worthy of Hickman, Ky., Jerry Worthy of Wappapello, Roy Worthy of Jackson, Richard Worthy of Washington, N.C, Roger Worthy of Colorado Springs, Colo., Larry Worthy of Bertrand.
Also surviving are seven sisters, Brenda Dozier of Sikeston, Dorothy Russell of St. Louis, Eva Williams of St. Charles, Patsy Conlin of Washington, N.C., Shirley Eye and Mary Ditto of East Prairie, Joyce Wallace of Georgia; and a grandson.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, a son, a brother, and a sister.
