Donald D. Wolfenkoehler, 74, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. He was born Nov. 16, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, son of Albert C. and Irene Friedrich Wolfenkoehler. He was married to Lola McNeely. Don was a syrup mixer with Coca-Cola Bottling Co. ...

Donald D. Wolfenkoehler, 74, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born Nov. 16, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, son of Albert C. and Irene Friedrich Wolfenkoehler. He was married to Lola McNeely.

Don was a syrup mixer with Coca-Cola Bottling Co. until they closed. He then worked for Thomas L. Meyer Realty and took care of rental property. Don was a member of American Legion. He also sang and played guitar in a band that performed at St. John's Church picnic and other area church picnics, as well as dances.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

Survivors include his wife, Lola Wolfenkoehler; three daughters, Donna (Alan) Eakins, Larrine (Brad) Brown and Patty (Steve) McCormick, all of Jackson; a stepdaughter, Kristi McNeely and friend Bill Booth of Cape Girardeau; a stepson, Russell (Sandy) McNeely of Scott City; a brother, Wayne A. (Wilma) Wolfenkoehler of Oklahoma City; six grandchildren: Donna's children, Michael and Kevin Eakins, Larrine's children, Mindy Stanley and Jana Walters, Patty's children, Christy Owens and Steven McCormick; three stepgrandchildren, Russell's children, Cody and Megan McNeely, Kristi's daughter, Zoe Booth; and six great-grandchildren, Donna's grandson, Matthew Eakins, Larrine's grandchildren, MaKayla Newman, Chase Roberts, Logan Wiggins, and Patty's grandchildren, Chelsea Carroll and Sierra Owens.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Church Cemetery in Fruitland with full military honors by the Delta Team. The Rev. David McNeely will officiate.

Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
