PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Donald R. Weith, 79, of Perryville died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 17, 1934, in Crosstown, Mo., son of Edward A. and Lillie F. Stockdahl Sewell Weith. He and Dixie Lee McGraw were married Dec. 24, 1955.
Donald was retired from the U.S. Air Force, and later retired as a correctional officer from Menard State Penitentiary in Chester, Ill.
He was a member of Cape County Cowboy Church in Oak Ridge, VFW Post 4282, American Legion Post 133 and Riverhills Eagles Lodge 4034.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Stanley (Vickie) Weith; two daughters, Phyllis Hoff and Dana Perkins, all of Perryville; two sisters, Norma J. Niccum of Perryville and Shirley M. McGraw of Hamilton, Ill.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Randy Perkins.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Home Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau or Southeast Hospice.
