MARBLE HILL -- Donald S. Eakins, 58, of Marble Hill Route 1, died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Aug. 15, 1933, at Whitewater, son of S.B. and Hester Proffer Eakins. He married Shirley Grindstaff Dec. 22, 1956...

MARBLE HILL -- Donald S. Eakins, 58, of Marble Hill Route 1, died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 15, 1933, at Whitewater, son of S.B. and Hester Proffer Eakins.

He married Shirley Grindstaff Dec. 22, 1956.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Donald G. Eakins, Farmington; a brother, Doyle Eakins, Whitewater; and sisters, Dorothy Scholz, Whitewater, Delthia Crader, Whitewater; Delma Stroder, Marion, Ill., Della Abernathy, Marble Hill, Deanna Friedrich, Oak Ridge, and Darlene Eakins, Whitewater.

Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at Liley Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.

Service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Marble Hill with the Rev. Rick Broadway officiating. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery at Marble Hill.
