PERRYVILLE -- Funeral service for Donald S. Beeson of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Vincent's Church. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. today. A parish wake will be held at 7.
Beeson, 70 years old, died Thursday, April 18, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 6, 1920, in Oakwood, Okla., son of Glenn and Gladys Marston Beeson. He and M. Muriel Huber were married May 12, 1945, in Cambridge, Mass.
Beeson was in the real estate and insurance business 21 years, and served as postmaster from 1964-82. He also served as a director of Mercantile Bank of Perryville.
He was a member of St. Vincent's Church; 4th degree member of KC Council 1263, and served as past grand knight and district deputy, and was a member of Cursillo No. 26 of the Catholic church.
Beeson was a past president of the Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, and Perryville Development Corp. He was a member and past adjutant of Moonier Reddick American Legion Post 133, and member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Elks.
He was a charter member and president of Perry Promenaders Square Dance Club, was Square Dance S.E. District delegate, and delegate to the Missouri Federation of Square Dance Clubs.
Beeson served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and served in the Naval Reserve in Cape Girardeau, retiring with the rank of lieutenant commander.
Survivors include his wife; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Diana Beeson of Jackson, Dan and Sheila Beeson of Tucson, Ariz., Scott and Cherylnn Beeson of Kansas City; three daughters and a son-in-law, Sally and David Cargle of Jackson, Susan Gerhard and Donna Beeson of St. Louis; two brothers, Herschel Beeson of San Diego, Calif., Carl Beeson of San Antonio, Tex.; two sisters, Nadine Evans of Taloga, Okla., Elaine Compton of Watonga, Okla., and 13 grandchildren.
