Donald Kapfer

Donald Edward Kapfer, 66, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at his home after a short battle with cancer.

He was born Oct. 10, 1956 in Cape Girardeau, the youngest child of Arnold and Marcella Glastetter Kapfer.

Don graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1975.

He was the owner of The Record Store on Broadway from 1979 to 2001. The past few years he worked at Show Me Center as a sound technician.

Don is survived by two brothers, David (Catherine) Kapfer and Daniel (Deborah) Kapfer, and a sister, Jane (John) Blattner, all of Cape Girardeau; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A special thanks to Greg Tlapek and Jerry Lomax for their many years of friendship and being there for him as he battled cancer.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
