CHARLESTON -- Donald James Hedge, 45, of St. Louis, formerly of Charleston, died Saturday, July 3, 1993, at the Community Hospital in Mayfield, Ky.
He was born March 14, 1948 in Cairo, Ill., son of Martin George and Hattie Lenora Moore Hedge. He had lived in St. Louis most of his life and had been employed as a heavy equipment operator and was of Baptist faith.
Surviving are two sons, Donald James Hedge Jr., Decatur, Ala., Timothy Martin Hedge, Aurora, Ill.; one daughter, Donna Hedge, Aurora, Ill.; four brothers, Bud Hedge, East Prairie, Alvin Hedge, Rolla, Tommy Hedge, Forest City, Miss., and Jimmy Morrow, Ullin, Ill.; six sisters, Betty Norman, St. Louis, Bonnie Pinter and Barbara Comans, both of Bogalusa, La., Opal Comans, Pearl, Miss., Mary Brimm, Anna, Ill., and Karen Coleman, Enigma, Ga.; and five grandchildren.
One brother and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be held today at 2 p.m. at the McMikle Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Meeks, pastor of the First General Baptist Church of Charleston, officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
Visitation was held Monday at the funeral home.
