SERENO, Mo. -- Donald J. Reiss, 66, of Farmington, Mo., formerly of Sereno, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, at Camelot Nursing and Rehab Center in Farmington.
He was born Aug. 28, 1940, son of Martin Cornelius and Virgie Mary Gibbar Reiss.
Reiss was a retired aircraft mechanical engineer. He was a graduate with honors of the Rolla School of Mines, achieved the rank of second lieutenant in the U.S. Army, a member of the American Contract Bridge Club and a past member of the Masonic Lodge of Chester, Ill.
Survivors include three brothers, Martin Reiss and Norman Reiss, both of Perryville, Mo., Harold Reiss of Red Bud, Ill.; and five sisters, Shirley Tarrillion of West Palm Beach, Fla., Theresa Sutter of Perryville, Dorothy Smith of Valparaiso, Ind., Doris Dauster of Longtown, Mo., and June Moore of Perryville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 9:20 a.m. Monday at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville. Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno. The Rev. Francis Agnew will officiate, with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.
