Donald L. Hitt, 72, of Houma, La., died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006. He was born Dec. 20, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, son of Claude E. and Addie J. Crawford Hitt. He married Janet A. Porche, who died in December 2005. Mr. Hitt was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church...

Donald L. Hitt, 72, of Houma, La., died Friday, Feb. 10, 2006.

He was born Dec. 20, 1933, in Cape Girardeau, son of Claude E. and Addie J. Crawford Hitt. He married Janet A. Porche, who died in December 2005.

Mr. Hitt was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church.

Survivors include four sons, Kevin J. (Cindy) Hitt, Darrell J. (Kim) Hitt, Timothy R. Hitt, John E. (Marlo) Hitt, all of Houma; a daughter, Venita A. Whitney of Houma; a brother, Euell Hitt of Poplarville, Miss.; a sister, Rita L. Kidd of Gordonville; seven grandchildren, Rachel, Meagan, Bryan, Jason and Eric Hitt, Jeremy and Hunter Whitney.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Jane Riegle.

The funeral was held Feb. 14 at St. Gregory Catholic Church.
