Donald Dockins

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Donald G. Dockins, 67, formerly of Sikeston, died Friday, June 17, 2005, at St. John's Place in St. Louis.

He was born Aug. 7, 1937, in Sikeston, son of George Franklin and Cora Mae Ballard Dockins. He and Wanda Sue Patrick were married June 10, 1967.

Dockins retired from the automobile division of United Technologies. He attended Tyler Redeeming Spiritualist Church.

He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a lance corporal at the time of his discharge.

Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Helen Caruthers of Bethalto, Ill., and Ruby "Boots" McNail of Farmington, Mo.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, with the Rev. Randy Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
