COBDEN, Ill. -- Donald R. DeWitt, 57, of Cobden died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Aug. 21, 1941, at Millcreek, son of John A. and Bessie Lorene Harvel DeWitt. He and Rosemary Higgins were married Dec. 26, 1966, in Springfield.
DeWitt was a partner in Hillside Terrace Nursing Home at Cobden until retiring. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, National Rifle Association, Egyptian Rifle and Pistol Club in Carterville, and Illinois State Rifle Association.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard DeWitt of Salt Lake City, Utah, Michael DeWitt of Cobden; two sisters, Gail DeWitt of Cobden, Joann Lisch of Anna; and a grandson.
Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 4-8 p.m. today, and Friday from 8:30-9:30 a.m.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church, with the Rev. Federico Higuera officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
