DONALD CALVERT

ADVANCE -- Donald E. Calvert, 84, of Advance died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 1997, at Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee.

He was born July 28, 1913, in Buxton, Iowa, son of Edward and Viola Church Calvert. He and Kathleen Marquis were married May 13, 1950, in Collinsville, Ill.

Calvert retired as a meat department manager at a grocery store in Granite City, Ill. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Debbie Armitage and Donna Francis of Chaffee, Kathy Miller of Buda, Texas; a stepdaughter, Jean Martin of Flagstaff, Ariz.; a sister, Viola Ramey of Mason, Mich.; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and grandson.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 4:30-8 p.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Mike Grant and Wayne Page officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery at Granite City.
