JACKSON -- Funeral service for Donald "Mike" Butler of Jackson will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau. The Revs. Otto Steinhaus and David Griffin will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Butler, 46, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 1994, at St. Louis University Hospital.
He was born Feb. 28, 1948, in Cullman, Ala., son of Reece and Lois Walker Butler. He and Katherine Nicholson were married May 9, 1981, in Denver, Colo.
Butler was reared in Peoria, Ill., moving to Jackson in 1990. For the past four years he was owner of Butler Distributing Co. in Cape Girardeau. Prior to coming here he was owner of Butler Distributing in Peoria five years. He had also been a district manager with Frito Lay Co. in Denver.
He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church, Excelsior Lodge, Elks Lodge in Cape Girardeau, member of Moolah Temple in St. Louis, was a 32nd Degree Mason, and past president of Cape Shrine Club. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joshua and Jonathan Butler of the home; two daughters, Heather Butler of the home, Cheri Leasure of Morton, Ill.; his mother and stepfather, Lois and Curtis Richrath of Peoria; three brothers, Eric Butler of Lafayette, Ore., Wayne Butler of Peoria, Jerry Butler of state of Washington; a sister, Gale Mott of Pekin, Ill., and a grandchild.
