SIKESTON, Mo. -- Don Wesley Sander, 70, of Sikeston, formerly of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020, at his home.
He was born May 28, 1950, in Gordonville to Edwin W. and Ida F. Wessel Sander. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Gordonville.
Don attended Gordonville Grade School and was a 1968 graduate of Jackson High School, where he was active in sports and lettered in football.
Don and Sandy Noles Schlosser were married Sept. 25, 2006.
He is survived by his children, Dane (MacKenzie) Sander of Perryville, Missouri, Garrett Sander of St. Louis, Scott (Jennifer) Schlosser and Keri (Rance) Braswell of Sikeston and Kyle (Jessica) Schlosser of Columbia, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Darrell (Ruth Ann) Sander and Jim (Karen) Sander of Jackson; nieces, Lisa (Jeff) Craft and Michelle (Jeremy) Hohler of Jackson; and three great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Ida Wessel Sander; and an infant sister.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dr. Rodney Pensel and the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Fruitland.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Saint Francis Hospice.
