ANNA, Ill. -- Don Menees, 78, of Anna died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Sept. 7, 1921, son of Everett and Grace Bean Menees. He and Afton Brown were married Sept. 12, 1948, in Anna. Menees worked all his life on the family farm where he was born and raised. He was a member and elder of Campground Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He attended Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Anna...

ANNA, Ill. -- Don Menees, 78, of Anna died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 7, 1921, son of Everett and Grace Bean Menees. He and Afton Brown were married Sept. 12, 1948, in Anna.

Menees worked all his life on the family farm where he was born and raised. He was a member and elder of Campground Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He attended Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Anna.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Don Menees of Anna; two daughters, Ilene Grant of Anna, Marcia Bauer of Taylorville; two sisters, Lois Corbit of Buncombe, Mildred Menees of Anna; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a grandson.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 6 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Steve Wilkinson officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery.
