MCCLURE, Ill. -- Domer Edward Matlock, 79, of McClure, Ill., died Thursday, Aug. 12, 1993, at the Cape LaCroix Nursing Center.
He was born Dec. 19, 1913 at McClure, son of James and Adeline Phillips Matlock.
He married Wilma Colyer Oct. 5, 1940 at Jackson. She survives.
He was a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 1981 from I.U.O.E. Local 318 Harrisburg, Ill., after 43 years.
He was a member of the V.F.W. Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of Anna, Ill.
He served in the Army from Aug. 25, 1943 to Feb. 28, 1946, including spending 13 months in the European zone.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Donita Naughton, Florissant; three sons, Edward Matlock Jr., Granite City, Ill., Dennis Matlock, McClure, Ryan Matlock, McClure; two brothers, Everett Matlock, Cape Girardeau, Rollie Matlock, Cairo, Ill.; one sister, Ollie Gregory, Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren and one great-grandson.
One sister and three brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau with the Rev. Danny Jones and the Rev. Greg Morrison officiating. Burial will follow in Lindsay Cemetery in McClure, Ill.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Sunday. Military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of Anna.
