Dolores Leslie Apollo, 90, formerly of St. Louis, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at Monticello House in Jackson, where she resided the past several months. The second of six children, Dolores was born April 16, 1926, in St. Louis to Lester and Laverna Kirkpatrick Bruder. She and Eugene Apollo were married Dec. 26, 1975. They had been married nearly 34 years when Eugene passed away Dec. 19, 2009...

Dolores Leslie Apollo, 90, formerly of St. Louis, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at Monticello House in Jackson, where she resided the past several months.

The second of six children, Dolores was born April 16, 1926, in St. Louis to Lester and Laverna Kirkpatrick Bruder. She and Eugene Apollo were married Dec. 26, 1975. They had been married nearly 34 years when Eugene passed away Dec. 19, 2009.

A native St. Louisan, Dolores held many positions as a switchboard operator for Peabody Coal, Wagner Electric, Bell Telephone and Maritz, retiring in 1992.

Dolores will be remembered for her kind spirit and generosity to family and friends. Time spent with her created many cherished memories, and she will be missed by all who loved her.

Loving survivors include her daughter, Diane (the late Patrick) Scully of Jackson; four grandchildren, Lisa (Tom) Gehrin of Cary, North Carolina, Nicholas Matulewic of Portage Des Sioux, Missouri, Renee (John) Boone of Merritt Island, Florida, and Gina Scully (Campbell Rodgers) of Raleigh, North Carolina; five great-grandchildren, Daniel, Jessica and Kristen Gehrin and Lauren and Nathan Boone; and a dear friend, Lucille Patterson of St. Louis.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to Mass time Monday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Graveside committal will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Laurel Hill Memorial Gardens in St. Louis.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
