PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Dolly M. Corse, 99, of Perryville departed this life Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Independence Care Center. She was born May 26, 1912, in Perry County, Mo., daughter of Edwin and Josephine Boxdorfer Horn. She and Fred R. Corse were married March 29, 1930. He preceded her in death June 8, 1991...

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Dolly M. Corse, 99, of Perryville departed this life Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at Independence Care Center.

She was born May 26, 1912, in Perry County, Mo., daughter of Edwin and Josephine Boxdorfer Horn. She and Fred R. Corse were married March 29, 1930. He preceded her in death June 8, 1991.

Mrs. Corse was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Crosstown, Mo., and Eastern Star Chapter 36 in Perryville.

For the past eight years of her life she was lovingly and compassionately cared for by her daughter Norma in Columbia, Mo. Dolly is best remembered as a storekeeper with her husband in Menfro, Mo. Her delicious homemade pies were always available for the many customers who came to the store for lunch. She was a quiet and humble person. Dolly has gone to be with the Lord, her just reward.

Survivors include a daughter, Norma L. Katt of Columbia; a son, Harold Corse of Crosstown; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Kenneth; two brothers, Robert and LeRoy Horn; three sisters, Marie Lowell, Verda Moldenhauer and Beatrice Hager.

Visitation will be from 8 to 11 a.m. today at Young and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Bethlehem Baptist Church, with the Revs. Steve Francis and Alvin Mathes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorial preference to Bethlehem Baptist Church.
