EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Dimple Woods, age 94 years, three months and 23 days, a resident of East Prairie, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2009, in the East Prairie Nursing Center.
Born Jan. 14, 1915, in Tennessee to the late Albert and Ida Sterling Harden, Dimple lived in Mississippi County most of her life. She was a charter member of the Full Gospel Church of East Prairie. On Jan. 6, 1929, she married Neal Woods, who preceded her in death March 3, 1993.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy Woods of East Prairie, Mo.; four daughters, Margaret Maness of Sikeston, Mo., Ruby Larson of Litchfield, Mich., Mary Lou Miller of St. Joseph, La., and Marilyn Ann Dodge of Dexter, Mo.; a sister, Elise Kemp of East Prairie; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and great-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and many friends.
Three sons, five brothers and three sisters preceded Dimple in death.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. in the Dogwood Cemetery with Brother Mike Johnson officiating. Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Gary Wayne Woods Jr., Barry Woods, Greg Woods, Randy Woods, Terry Woods, Jason Woods, James Woods and Keith Easter.
Honorary pallbearers are Steven Woods, Damon "Smoke" Woods, Ronnie Ellis, Shelby Ellis, Raymond Ellis, Hunter Brown, Steve Miller and Michael Miller.
