EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral service for Richard "Dickie" England of East Prairie will be held at 11 a.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. Burl Britt will officiate, with burial in East Prairie Memorial Park.
England, 50, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 1997, at his home, of an apparent heart attack.
He was born July 7, 1947, in Mississippi County, son of Isiac Howard and Rosie May Thomas England. He and Darlene Brawner Smith were married May 11, 1992.
A lifelong resident of Mississippi County, England was a construction worker.
Survivors include his wife; four stepsons, Ricky Brawner of Poplar Bluff, Richard Brawner of Phoenix, Ariz., Ronnie Brawner of Morehouse, Scott Brawner of East Prairie; two brothers, Wallace "Catfish" Shelby of East Prairie, Billy Shelby of Gonzales, La.; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson.
