Diane Marie Lane, 69, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, at her home.
She was born Oct. 21, 1953, in Perryville, Missouri, to Robert and Bernice Schnurbusch French. She and Allen Lane were married Sept. 25, 1982, in Brazeau, Missouri.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.
Diane was a devoted wife to Allen for 41 years, a loving mother to Jenna and Justin and beloved grandmother to Brendan and Dylan.
She will be remembered for those moments when she danced to Elvis' rhythm, infusing every room with her infectious laughter. Her love for Allen was a love story, an enduring bond that inspired everyone who knew them. Jenna and Justin, the apples of her eye, were blessed with Diane's warmth and kindness.
Diane's greatest joy was in becoming a grandmother to Brendan and Dylan, showering them with love and affection.
Although her smile is no longer seen or her voice heard, Diane's spirit endures, forever serenading family and friends with the sweet sounds of love. In her loved ones' hearts, she remains an eternal symbol of grace and love.

Survivors include her husband, Allen Lane of Cape Girardeau; son, Justin (Kayla) Lane of Paducah, Kentucky; daughter, Jenna (Mark) Rubel of Cape Girardeau; and two grandchildren, Dylan Rubel and Brendan Hays.
Diane was preceded in death by her father, Robert French, and brother, Jimmy French.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau, with rosary at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Jesse Hiett officiating. Burial will be at Brazeau Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Brazeau
