SIKESTON -- Funeral for Dewey Wallace "Wally" Phillips of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Burnes will officiate, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery at Charleston.
Phillips, 77, died Monday, Sept. 28, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born April 9, 1921, in Fort Douglas, Ark., son of James and Hyla Cooksey Phillips. He and Mary Kathleen Mincy were married Oct. 18, 1967.
Phillips had worked at Scott County Milling Co. and Sikeston Public Schools.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Rodney Phillips of Kansas City; a daughter, Silvia Bell of Sikeston; a stepson, Wilford Palmer of Troy, Mont.; two brothers, James Phillips of Pine Bluff, Ark., Perry Phillips of Oran; a sister, Silvia Lane of Sikeston; and 15 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, a brother and a sister.
