Destiny Nicole Grebing, 7, of Jackson passed away Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at St. Louis Children's Hospital in St. Louis. She was born Sept. 20, 2002, in Cape Girardeau, to Barbara J. Grebing. Destiny was a recipient of a double lung transplant in 2003. She enjoyed movies and was a wiz on the computer. She loved being outside and her favorite things included walking and swinging in the park and motorcycle and car rides. She recently was proud to be learning sign language...

Destiny Nicole Grebing, 7, of Jackson passed away Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at St. Louis Children's Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born Sept. 20, 2002, in Cape Girardeau, to Barbara J. Grebing.

Destiny was a recipient of a double lung transplant in 2003. She enjoyed movies and was a wiz on the computer. She loved being outside and her favorite things included walking and swinging in the park and motorcycle and car rides. She recently was proud to be learning sign language.

In addition to her loving mother, survivors include a grandmother, Pat Kight (Richard Kester) of Gordonville; grandfather, Marvin (Beverly) Grebing of Altenburg, Mo.; great-grandmother, Leona Hoehne of Cape Girardeau; four uncles, Ralph Grebing and Billy (Sarah) Grebing of Wittenberg, Mo., Harvey Grebing and Phillip Grebing (Renee Emerson) of Altenburg; an aunt, Cathy (Mark) Haertling of Altenburg; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandfather, Leonard Hoehne, and great-grandparents, Paul and Esther Grebing.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will follow at 7 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Winferd Wren officiating.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the family or the St. Louis Children's Hospital Lung Transplant Program.
