Deo Earl Wolfe, 93, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024, at his home. He was born Sept. 8, 1930, in Columbia City, Indiana, the son of Herbert Edward and Mary Luella Humbarger Wolfe. Deo married Evelyn Simmons on June 29, 1962. She passed away Aug. 29, 1977. On Oct. 21, 1978, he married Mary Dell Dickerson Penrod. She preceded him in death Feb. 14, 1988. Deo married Janet Minner on April 12, 1990. She survives. ...

Deo Earl Wolfe, 93, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024, at his home.

He was born Sept. 8, 1930, in Columbia City, Indiana, the son of Herbert Edward and Mary Luella Humbarger Wolfe. Deo married Evelyn Simmons on June 29, 1962. She passed away Aug. 29, 1977. On Oct. 21, 1978, he married Mary Dell Dickerson Penrod. She preceded him in death Feb. 14, 1988. Deo married Janet Minner on April 12, 1990. She survives.

Deo was a 1949 graduate of Columbia City (Indiana) High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, honorably serving from July 31, 1951, to April 21, 1965. At the time of his discharge, he had earned the rank of staff sergeant.

Deo worked several years at the former Superior Electric Co. in Cape Girardeau and later worked many years for Cape Girardeau Public Schools, retiring July 1, 1995.

He also was a volunteer for 10 years for Gordonville Fire Department and was a member of Shawnee Baptist Church in Jackson.

Deo enjoyed woodworking, making furniture and reading western novels.

He is survived by his wife, Janet, of 34 years and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Evelyn, and his wife, Mary, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother.

A memorial visitation will be held from from 2 to 3 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The Rev. Don Estes will officiate the memorial service at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the funeral home, followed by full military honors.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shawnee Hills Baptist Church.
