ADVANCE, Mo. -- William Denver Payne, 82, of Advance passed away Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Missouri.
He was born Nov. 24, 1932, at McGee, Missouri, son of John and Virgie William Payne. He and Marie Morris were married Dec. 31, 1988, in Advance.
Denver was a retired supervisor with Glenn Trucking Co. in St. Louis. He was a lifelong truck driver.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Payne of the home; three sons, David and Jackie Payne of Advance, Bill Payne of Richland, Missouri; five daughters, Ginger Hewitt of Advance, Mary Kathleen Loomis of De Soto, Missouri, Virgie Cloninger of Advance, Donna Founie of De Soto and Janet Burnett of Benton, Missouri; two stepsons, Patrick Murphy of Festus, Missouri, and Delbert Murphy of Jackson; a stepdaughter, Theresa Simms of Advance; a brother, Leland Payne of Brownstown, Illinois; three sisters, Cleo Wisdom of House Springs, Missouri, Loretta Edwards of Dexter, Missouri, and Rita West of Clubb, Missouri; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John D. Payne; a stepdaughter, Jackie Woods; two brothers, Doyle and Avon Payne; and two grandsons.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. LeeRoy Hefner officiating. Burial will be in McGee New Hope Cemetery at McGee.
