CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Dennis Eugene Wagoner, son of the late Ed Wagoner and Pearlene Rosemary Spane, was born Sept. 29, 1943, in Perkins, Missouri, and departed this life Nov. 26, 2019, at his home in Chaffee at the age of 76 years. CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Dennis Eugene Wagoner, son of the late Ed Wagoner and Pearlene Rosemary Spane, was born Sept. 29, 1943, in Perkins, Missouri, and departed this life Nov. 26, 2019, at his home in Chaffee at the age of 76 years.

Dennis retired as a supervisor of 30 years with Leggett-Platt Inc. in Cape Girardeau and was a former employee of nine years with Florsheim Shoe in Cape Girardeau. He served in the National Guard Specialist Fire Department Infantry 1140 as a medic.

He was a member of the Chaffee Elks Lodge No. 1810 and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and fisherman. But most of all, he loved watching his grandchildren play sports.

On May 15, 1965, he was united in marriage to Frances M. Halter at Chaffee. She survivors of the home.

Besides Frances Wagoner, his wife of 54 years, other survivors include sons, Danny (Ann) Wagoner of Chaffee and Eddie Wagoner of Kelso, Missouri; daughter, Kimberly Denise (Jim) Wilson of Houston; four grandchildren, William Wilson, Lauren Wagoner, Avery Wagoner and Alex Wagoner; and brother, Gary Wagoner of Perkins.

Besides his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Wagoner.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Elks service will be at 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Phil Thompson and Kenny Shoemaker officiating. Interment will follow at Williams Cemetery in Perkins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to help improve the lives of people burdened by Type 1 diabetes and continue searching for a cure.
