Dennis Michael Turbeville, 73, of Marble Hill, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 15, 1948, in St. Louis, son of Cecil and Wanda Smith Turbeville. He and Fay Owens were married Aug. 19, 1967.

Dennis was a 1966 graduate of Patton High School. After high school, he went to work for Burlington Northern Truck Lines. He later received his law enforcement certification and worked for Putman County, Florida Sheriff's Department, retiring in 2003. After retirement, they moved to Patton and Dennis worked at Buchheit's in Jackson until he suffered a heart attack in 2009 which forced him into a full retirement. Dennis was a member of Little Whitewater Baptist Church.

Loving survivors include his wife, Fay of 54 years; two sons, Mike (Elizabeth) Turbeville and Scott (Brandi) Turbeville, all of Marble Hill; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; and a sister, Gloria (Bernard) Estanope of Pomona Park, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a stepfather, Virgil Petrus, a son, Tim Turbeville and a half-sister, Janet Tittel.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at noon on Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeff Woodard officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
