Dennis J. Lockhart, 57, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Holy Trinity, Alabama, passed away Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, in Cape Girardeau.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. EST today at Taylor Funeral Home in Phenix City, Alabama.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. EST Saturday at New Canaan Baptist Church in Cottonton, Alabama, with the Rev. Wash Williams, pastor, officiating. Eulogist will be the Rev. Jimmy Averett. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Dennis was born Jan. 11, 1960, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late Callie Mae Lockhart Piett and the late Paul A. Lockhart.
He was a member of Mount Canaan Baptist Church, a graduate of Chavala High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University. He was employed by Buzzi Unicem.
Survivors include a sister, Elaine Lee of Columbus; four brothers, Johnny (Dianne) Lockhart, Sammy Lockhart and Lawrence Lockhart, all of Phenix City, and Alonzo Piett of Columbus; and a host of other relatives and friends.
