ESSEX, Mo. -- Dennis Russell "Root Hog" Joseph, 48, of Essex died Saturday, March 10, 2001, at his home.

He was born Dec. 4, 1952, at Poplar Bluff, Mo., son of Everett Russell and Lottie Mae Welker Joseph.

Joseph was a farmer. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include a son, Justin Joseph of Dexter, Mo.; his parents of Dexter; three sisters, Janet Pride of Diamond City, Ark., Linda Nichols of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Cheryl Lane of St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by a son.

Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 1-4 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. H. Worth officiating. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery.
