Dennis Hale, 69, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. Dennis Hale, 69, of Cape Girardeau passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Dennis was born Oct. 6, 1951, in St. Louis to the late Paul and Freda Whitener Hale.

Dennis graduated from Fredericktown (Missouri) High School in 1969. He received a bachelor of science degree in education from Southeast Missouri State University in 1974.

He worked for the City of Cape Girardeau in the wastewater division for 34 years, retiring in 2011 as the water treatment coordinator, earning the prestigious Robert Miller Award.

Dennis enjoyed all sports. He coached his children's sports teams and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Mizzou fan. He was a collector of sports memorabilia. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 3775 in Cape Girardeau.

Loving survivors include three daughters, Marlena (David Copeland) Hale of Chaffee, Missouri; Loretta (Tim) Kincaid of Jackson; and Paula (Mark) Carnell of Gordonville; a son, Jason (Stephanie) Singleton of Bonne Terre, Missouri; a brother, Kenneth (Nancy) Hale of St. Louis; a sister, Paula (Danny) Douglas; and two sisters-in-law, Helen Hale and Marge Hale.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Brittany (Matt) Rhodes, Amanda (Brandon Carroll) Hente, James Singleton, Forest (Shania) Kincaid, Alex (Chelsie) Kincaid, Ashley Gossett, Dakota Hale-Sikes, Jack McCormack, Christopher Singleton, Jayda Sadler, Liliauna Sadler, Mason Hale and Dax Copeland; great-grandchildren. Kooper Kincaid, Parker Kincaid, Mackenley Ritz and Owen Gossett; his close companion, Patricia Webb; his first wife, Connie Hale; and dear friends, Benny and Geuetha Johnson and Steve and Lisa Cook.

In addition to his parents Dennis was preceded in death by his second wife, Linda Hale; two brothers, Ronnie and Terry Hale; and a son, Derek Hale.

A visitation will be from noon until service time today at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
