Benfield, 76, died Thursday, June 15, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife, Lena; a son, Leroy Benfield of Perryville; two brothers, Bob Johnson of Hermann, Wayne Johnson of Mountain Grove; two sisters, Maxine Thornton of West Plains, Fern Collins of Lake of the Ozarks; two grandsons, and four great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by a sister.
