Dennis W. Edwards, 50, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999, at his home.

He was born Aug. 11, 1949, in Metropolis, Ill., son of Harry Glenn and Adeline Minnie Kotter Edwards. He and Rose Lynn were married April 7, 1989, in Cape Girardeau.

Edwards worked in human resources and was a line technician at Procter and Gamble from 1969-91. He had worked in human resources and maintenance management at Havco Wood Products Inc. since 1991.

He was a reserve police officer in Jackson in the mid 1970s. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Rodney Edwards of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Kristi Caveness and Wendy Edwards of Cape Girardeau, Kimberly Edwards of Jackson; a stepdaughter, Brandi Farrow of Cape Girardeau; an adopted daughter, Jennifer Burroughs of Jackson; his parents of Metropolis; a brother, Don Edwards of Metropolis; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Jackson. The Rev. Brian Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
