BENTON -- Funeral mass for Denis Frank LeGrand of Benton will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Denis Catholic Church. The Rev. Normand Varone will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Benton after 4 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 8, followed by Knights of Columbus prayer service.
LeGrand, 85, died Monday, Feb. 19, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 24, 1910, at Benton, son of William and Mary Diebold LeGrand. He and Anita Dirnberger were married May 28, 1935, in Oran.
LeGrand farmed in the Benton area all his life, and had been a DeKalb Seed dealer. He was a member of St. Denis Church, Chamber of Commerce at Benton, and Knights of Columbus at Oran.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Denis, James and Michael LeGrand of Benton; four daughters, Mary Sater of St. Charles, Clara LeGrand of Cape Girardeau, Bernadette Stricker of Charleston, Rose Spears of Bell City; four brothers, Paul LeGrand of Granite City, Ill., Charles LeGrand of O'Fallon, Ill., Alban LeGrand of Carlyle, Ill., Francis LeGrand of Florissant; two sisters, Rosabel and Angelica LeGrand of Joliet, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
