Denis Wayne "Denny" Fitzpatrick, 70, of Cape Girardeau lost his battle with heart disease Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center. He died peacefully surrounded by his friends and family.
He was born Jan. 14, 1945, in Kennett, Missouri, to Lenard and Ruby Stacy Fitzpatrick.
Denny was a loving and humorous family man, and was the owner of a successful body shop over three decades in Dexter, Missouri.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne (Wendy) Fitzpatrick and Shane (Kathleen) Fitzpatrick, both of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Sherry (Tim) King of Dexter; two brothers, Jerry (Rita) Fitzpatrick of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Dale (Pat) Fitzpatrick of Dexter; a sister, Sharon Fitzpatrick of Cape Girardeau; and seven grandchildren, Kiera, Liam, Shauna, Courtney, Kristen and Jacob Fitzpatrick and Olivia Shell.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a private family celebration of Denny's life at a later date.
