SIKESTON, Mo. -- Funeral for Demetra Braden of Sikeston will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home. Pat Hogan will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Braden, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born July 19, 1921, in Friendship, Tenn., daughter of Jesse and Margaret Green. She and Leonard Braden were married Nov. 20, 1937. He died March 10, 1987.

Braden was a self-employed beautician at Parma, Mo., 20 years. She was a member of First Christian Church at Malden, Mo.

Survivors include a son, John Braden of Sikeston; a sister, Sue Evans of Sikeston; two grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.
