MARBLE HILL -- Delzie Cook, 89, of Marble Hill, died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born at Mayfield June 18, 1909, son of Hunter E. and Barbara A. James Cook.
On March 14, 1931, he married Bertha Mae Cook. She died Aug. 16, 1993.
He is survived by two sons, Dewey and Clytus Cook, both of Marble Hill; a daughter, Verla Cook of Marble Hill; a brother, the Rev. Odell Cook of Jackson; a sister, Elsie Fulbright of Imperial; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired mechanic, operating his own garage.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Revs. Jerry Sander and Donald Cook officiating. Burial will be in James Cemetery near Marble Hill.
