SIKESTON, Mo. -- Delpha Raye Higdon, 92, of Sikeston died Thursday, June 30, 2005, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born April 19, 1913, in Rosiclare, Ill., daughter of Homer and Barbara Leona Widdows Henson. She and Marshall Edds Higdon were married Jan. 27, 1936, in New Madrid, Mo. He died Sept. 26, 1963.
Higdon had been a cook at Cyrus Inn, and a bookkeeper at Scott County Milling Elevators. She was a member of Temple of Faith.
Survivors include two sons, Malcolm Higdon of Concord, Calif., Marshall Higdon of Ouray, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter and six sisters.
Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Loy Miller officiating. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery at Matthews, Mo.
