Delores Tackett

Delores Eileen Tackett, 71, of Jackson died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born July 2, 1940, in Cape Girardeau County to Oral and Hazel McClard Johnson.

She and Chalmer O. Tackett were married Nov. 2, 1957, at Cape Girardeau.

Mrs. Tackett worked for Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau for 36 years, retiring in 1999.

She was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Cape Girardeau and former Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Vickie (Rodney) Bowman and Rhonda (Tony) Hafford, both of Cape Girardeau; a son, Ronnie D. Tackett of Jackson; and seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one stepgreat-granchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Sprigg St. Chapel.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Darrell E. Faire Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
