Delmar E. Hutteger, 82, of Jackson passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Jan. 2. 1923, in New Wells, son of William L. and Emma K. Weber Hutteger. He and Irene L. Roth were married Oct. 11, 1946. They had been married 43 years when she passed away Sept. 15, 1990...

Delmar E. Hutteger, 82, of Jackson passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jan. 2. 1923, in New Wells, son of William L. and Emma K. Weber Hutteger. He and Irene L. Roth were married Oct. 11, 1946. They had been married 43 years when she passed away Sept. 15, 1990.

Hutteger served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He owned and operated a dairy farm with his brother, Melvin, in Arcadia, Calif., and then worked for Alta-Dena Dairy in California, retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.

Loving survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Wilbert "Wib" and Jerlene Hutteger of Jackson; a sister, Florence Meyr of New Wells; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ted and Irma Wallis of St. Louis; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Hutteger, and a sister, Viola Perr.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Henrichs officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church or School or Saxony Lutheran High School.
