Della Stoops

Della Mae Stoops, 82, of Scott City died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born July 11, 1923, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Robert and Josie Owens Graden. She and Thomas Stoops were married in 1941 in Cape Girardeau. He died Jan. 6, 2005.

Stoops had worked at Superior Electric and had been a housekeeper at Southeast Missouri State University. She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ and its Friendship and Mary Martha circles.

Survivors include a son, Bradley Stoops of Scott City; a sister, Vernell Rodenberry of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son and a sister.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Randy Heckman officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
