Della Behymer Ames, 85, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. She was born Nov. 30, 1935, at Neelys Landing to Robert E. and Zola Penrod Robison. She married Jack W. Behymer. Two children, David and Kara, were born to their union. Jack passed away Jan. 19, 1976. She later married the Rev. Earl Ames. He also preceded her in death...

Della Behymer Ames, 85, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Nov. 30, 1935, at Neelys Landing to Robert E. and Zola Penrod Robison. She married Jack W. Behymer. Two children, David and Kara, were born to their union. Jack passed away Jan. 19, 1976. She later married the Rev. Earl Ames. He also preceded her in death.

Della attended First Baptist Church in Oak Ridge and always considered that to be her "home church." She worked many years in a clerical division of the Missouri Department of Mental Health.

Loving survivors include a son, David (Carol) Behymer of St. Louis; and three siblings, Wilbur "Clay" (Margaret) Robison of Boise, Idaho; Betty (the late Billy) Betha of Little Rock, South Carolina; and Nancy (Linus) Johnston of Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her spouses; daughter, Kara Behymer; two adult siblings, Elvie (Norval) Robert and Frank Robison; and an infant sister, Mattie.

Visitation will be from noon to service time Sunday, Dec. 20 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20 at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jacob Colwell officiating. Burial will be private on Monday at New Bethel Cemetery, where Della will be laid to rest next to husband, Jack, and daughter, Kara.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to New Bethel Cemetery.
