ANNA, Ill. -- Delbert Parr, 79, of Anna died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 26, 1923, at Cypress, Ill., son of Lionel and Mary Turner Parr. He and Doris Page were married Oct. 31, 1945, in Arkansas.
He was employed by Bunny Bread Bakery for 30 years and retired in 1988. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Cypress Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Delbert E. Parr of Janesville, Calif., Danny Parr of Jonesboro, Ill., and Doug Parr of Nashville, Tenn.; four brothers, Luther Parr of Anna, L.J. Parr of Hammond, Ind., Ray Parr of Cypress and Chris Parr of Buena Park, Calif.; one sister, Thelma Moake of Cypress; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Services in Jonesboro from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. LaRue Parr officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery, with graveside military rites conducted by the VFW Post 3455 of Anna.
